Catty Good times in the Great Hall. SPOILER!!: Evee/Lima = the claws are out Quote:
Evolette McKenna stormed up to the Slytherin table with huff. Flicking her hair off of her shoulder, the fifth year glared at a piece of bread before picking it up, placing it on her plate and proceeding to stab it with a fork.
"Stupid." she mumbled, taking out all of her anger on the poor defenseless bread. "Male." She continued grunting words that really had nothing to do with the other. It felt like everything she had been holding inside was suddenly spilling out.
Nico was gone. Miles was always with Vannie. Hugo. Well, Hugo was best friends with Terry, and as much as she didn't want him to take sides before, it would totally crush her if he didn't take her side; and Terry. He might as well have just ripped her heart out and stomped on it. It probably would have hurt less.
Slumping a little, she dropped her head in her hand, staring at the bread that she had just destroyed
Quote:
Lima cleared her throat uncomfortably as she approached the Slytherin who seemed to be massacring a piece of bread. Maybe now was not the best time to talk to her afterall...
But she had looked for the girl. She wanted to know why she disliked Lima and she wasn't going to turn around so easily.
Sighing, she took a seat beside Evee and said, "hello," conversationally. Or, at least she hoped it was conversationally. She never knew how things would go with people in bad moods afterall.
Quote:
Evolette did not appreciate being stared at. Honestly. How hard was it to just mind your own business? But even as she thought that, she felt a stab of guilt, angry or not, these girls were only trying to help. Well, she guessed as much anyway.
"I'm perfectly peachy." she said, addressing everyone who had talked to her since she arrived at the table. "Boys suck." she added for good measure, nodding her head.
She was about to destroy the dread even more when someone sat beside her. Oh great. Lima. Just exactly what she needed. Letting out a deep breath, she turned to look at the girl, arching a dark eyebrow, "Yes Lima? Can I help you?"
Quote:
Not feeling phased in the least by the look of daggers that Evee shot at her, Lima continued slowly. She wasn't going to get right to the point. Cleariong her throat awkwardly she said, "something the matter?"
Quote:
With an exaggerated sigh, and an eyeroll, Evolette slanted her gaze at Lima once more. "No. Didn't you hear?" She asked, waving her hand, "I'm just peachy." She dropped the fork that she was holding right beside her plate and stared at it.
"Does it look like there's something wrong? Because if it does, then there must be hmm?"
Quote:
She blinked as Evee continued to be rude to her. What's her problem? As soon as she got over her surprise, she started to get angry.
"What exactly is your problem with me?" she snapped out. She felt a bit bad for it afterwards. She shouldn't have said that when Evee was obviously upset about something.
Oh well, she couldn't take it back now.
Quote:
Evolette laughed, shaking her head and causing curls to come untucked from behind her ear, and fall over her shoulder. "Well gee Lima, I don't know if you've noticed, but not everyone is your best friend. Some people just don't like you, and most don't have a reason for not liking you."
Tapping the fork on the table, Evolette continued, "Luckily for you, I do have a reason. Three reasons actually." She held up three fingers, "One: I don't like girls. At all. They annoy me beyond belief and most of them are very immature. Two: I don't like blondes. Don't ask why, because you won't get a reason. Three: The first time I met you, you were in some dim lit corridor, flirting with my boyfriend."
She dropped her hand back onto the table, and raised an eyebrow, "Now, does that answer your question?"
Quote:
She rolled her eyes. "Whoever said that everyone was my best friend?" That was just ridiculous. "Well, you, Willow and Maddox all hate me now. So apparently that's not the case"
"And your first two reasons are shallow and your third is totally untrue." Did Evee really think that Lima had flirted with him then? It was true that she had flirted with him a bit at the end of last Term, but she had felt guilty about it after.
Quote:
"Oh please." Evolette said, "Shallow is what I am, and I don't have to have my life criticized by someone who barely knows me." She was already over this conversation.
Until Lima denied flirting with Terry. "Right." she agreed, nodding her head, "Maybe I was just imagining that afterall." the sarcastic tone in her voice with thick, "I know what flirting looks like, you were flirting with him." Evolette held up both of her hands, "But hey, why should it matter to me anymore? Terry's not my boyfriend. Flirt with him as much as you like."
Pushing the plate away she stepped up, away from the table. "Actually, no. Keep away from him. My boyfriend or not. He doesn't like blondes either."
With that, she walked out of the Great Hall, feeling quite a bit better.
