Letting out a long sigh, Mariel reached for her goblet of pumpkin juice as Sarah turned to her again.
Looking towards the staff table as her friend spoke, Mariel sadly shook her head. She really hadn't been paying much attention in that direction since the new headmaster made his speech, but it seemed as though a few of the professors had tripped over one another. "I really don't know, Sarah. Things seem a little.. strange though." Afraid her friend would leave because of her gloomy mood, she tried to think of something else to say. "So, making new friends at the Hufflepuff table?"
And finally her pumpkin juice. As she once again reached for her goblet, a familiar face caught her eye. She hadn't talked to Jenn in ages and right now the girl looked as bad as Mariel felt. She offered Jenn a small wave, hoping that she'd move down the table to sit with them, but just as she did, Jenn seemed to be surrounded by more people. Sighing before taking a sip of her juice, she wondered when she'd get the chance to talk to her... or when this feast was going to be over. She felt downright miserable and was looking forward to just going to bed.
Turning back round to face the table,Sarah snorted at Mariel's question.
"Ahhh well thats the thing, isn't it!" she said slightly bitterly.
"I got talking to a couple of first years and mid coversation they up and left to speak to other people!" Leaning forward she roughly picked up a piece of bread and tore it in half.
"I'm beginning to think I smell or something, and you're just too nice to mention it!"
Her voice dropped down to a whisper as she continued.
"I mean take Nathaniel for instance," she said, glancing in his direction.
"I spoke to him a couple of times on the train and he didn't answer me once.I know he knows you better than me,and he was more interested in talking to you,but still..." stuffing some of the bread in her mouth to stop herself talking,Sarah quietly mused.
I always answer people, she thought,
it's only polite.
Glancing up again Sarah noticed a face she thought she knew.Looking closer she realised it was Jenn, the other Ravvie she had befriended the year before.
"Jenn!!" she screeched, before regaining control of her voice.
"Sorry didn't mean to shout. How are you?" she asked, then saw that others had come over to talk to Jenn too.
"We'll have to catch up between classes!" Quote:

Closing her eyes she tried to regain control. After about 3 minutes she put it off as a lost cause.
Now her friends would either scorn her because of her oddity or they would not. They would have found out sooner or later, Transylvanians had wicked tempers. Sighing, she took a sip of pumpkin juice and tried to reorient to the conversations at hand. Glancing at Lyra whom had her head in her arms she shook her head. She wasn't angry at her but she was afriad to speak, for either she would brust into tears or rant and rave at the injustice of it all.
No silence for now was the better part of valor. All that could be said now, was that no one else better cross her this night, or they would be dealing with a very angry Transylvanian witch. An untrained witch at that.
Sarah watched as Lasa came back to the table, still not happy by all accounts. Not yet knowing what had caused all the agro she was at a loss as to what to say.
So instead she just put a hand on her shoulder, smiled and said..
"Do you want some treacle pudding?"
