Robert said off handedly as he pushed his food around his plate, concentrating hard on it as if it was some piece of art that wasn't perfect. Like anything could be perfect. Even my own father says I'm a screw up. I guess this just proves it. He looked up when he heard her reasoning behind it and frowned as he said forcefully in a hushed wisper, "No, it's not the same. You aren't dating someone and agreed to go show some bleeding idiot boy who'd been flirting with you openly every bloody chance he got the library...alone. She went too far." His expression turned exasperated even hurtful, "She didn't even think about what he was asking she just said yes.... Trying to be helpful or not if she couldn't see what he was pulling then she's just blind."
He continued to push his food around as he listened to Elizabeth talk about the professor. As the conversation died down he looked around and sighed before turning toward Elizabeth and then back at his plate,"What play was it? The...the one you saw him in." [/COLOR] Elizabeth's eyes widened as Robert confirmed her question about Cayden, quite angrily, then went on to dismiss her offer to lend him the book. "Um, okay . . .," she said, taken aback a little. And she got even more uncomfortable when he responded to her attempt at reassuring him about Mari, and actually cringed away from his whisper a little. "Maybe you should just try to calm down," she said quietly, before adding, "And then talk to Mari about it. Calmly. Not all ticked off like you are right now." And then she glanced back at her plate, and found herself taking another piece of bread to start shredding.
When he suddenly broke into her discussion about Truebridge with Mari and Ludo to ask about the play, she turned back to him, surprised. His demeanor seemed to have completely changed, and it confused her a little. "Um, Rent. Why? I mean, you said you didn't know anything about theater, so I can't see why it would matter to you," she said, mystified.
