Someone talking to him again. "Er... yeah," Jake bit his lip. Quit doing that. "I was just worried, that some people might object to me trying out," Jake admitted. "Apparently, I'm 'not the quidditch type'." He wrinkled his nose in distaste as he said this.
"But yeah," Jake nodded. "I'll definately do my best to make it to try-outs."
Oh, that red-haired woman was just...there wasn't actually a word. What was she going to teach them, again? Well, hopefully a subject she was good at, otherwise...disaster!
She smiled sweetly at the boy,
"Nah, don't pay attention to what people say..." she started to say, but was sure to clarify something else,
"...unless you make the team, in which case you have to pay attention to what I say" it might have sounded evil if someone else said it, but she was sure not to scare the boy away,
"...and yes, you have got to try out, the more the merrier" or the more then the more people hurt. She still liked the first idea, though.
"You know...no one's actually the Quidditch-type" sure, Kaika was slightly taller than most girls at that age, which worked great for both Keeping or Beating, but Miranda and Emalyn were small and fierce with a quaffle. Not even Dominic was the Seeking type, considering how tall he was. So, yeah, there aren't types.

"Hello Mister Friar," Savannah greeted their house ghost cheerfully, smiling up at the floating figure and then back to her friends, and house mates. Ocean blue orbs scanned over the faces, as they had over the entire great hall on her walk. It was nice to be back. Really nice. "Hey guys!" Vannah added, taking a seat on the long wood bench at the large table.
"Vannah!" Kaika pretty much yelled, it was sooooooo great to see her. Will she know where Rapunzel went to? Umm, yeah, she didn't feel to ask that at the moment.
"I was just about to ask Curt where you were" true, she hadn't seen her in quite a while. Truth be told, she didn't even leave the compartment she'd chosen the way back to Hogwarts, therefore, it was very hard to find house mates.
She wasn't going to ask Vannah if she'd noticed anything new, like the way she did with Curt. She was pretty perceptive with this little, um, big, things. Surely she already knew who was the need Prefect boy, Hufflepuff's, that is.
