She stood between the tables in bewilderment, trying with difficulty not to explode into a fit of course language.

What she managed to say was, “You food waster...!” And she didn’t care for the parasol of doom anymore than she cared about the brand-name head bow and nonpareils cupcake necklace. Several things happened at once: Matilda at random grabbed a plate of what might be cheese cake and closed the distance between her and Kana with it lifted over her shoulders. That would have shocked her grandmother into death. It never occurred to her how hypocritical she looked. She must have cared about her second-hand clothes more than it was suggested.

The plate replaced the head bow with a definite splat. “Now you look like the inaccuracy of a gnome."

They wanted her to have a fresh start - and possibly to stop wearing frilly clothes that cost too much.

At least back home, she had managed to keep those frilly damn clothes clean!

A fork zinged past Matilda's ear as Kana rose, grabbing hold of whatever she could. Never once in her life had she cared about making a scene and she certainly wasn't withholding anything now. A steaming hot potato flew in Matilda's general direction and Kana took the time to stick her parasol somewhere safe.

There was food... flying.

Issy saw it out of the corner of her eyes, a flash of gold flying, a plate that was soaring through the air and food that was splattering on people, on the table, on the floor. And inside, she felt the panic rise, because Ravenclaw did not lose, nor did they misbehave.

Without saying anything to Juni, Issy jumped up, surging with adrenaline and sense of authority pumping through her veins. Her usually sweet face was rearranged and her childish features twisted with anger, brows lowered deeply over her eyes, their vivid green bright with her temper.

"What in the name of Merlin's beard do you think you guys are doing?" she snarled as she approached them. "A FOOD fight? REALLY? How old are you all?" Narrowed eyes looked over all of them and she realized that her hands were on her hips, like her Mummy did when she was angry. "We're in the Great Hall at the OPENING FEAST and you think it smart to throw food around? ARE YOU GUYS BARBARIANS?! Do you plan to make us lose the Cup from the get go?"

Ravenclaw was supposed to be a good example! And now they were going to lose points because of a few stupid, ignorant children who insisted on behaving like monkeys? Selfish! That's what they were! Selfish children!
