"What the hell," snarled Kana, rising forth from the cheesecake like a volcano, "is the 'inaccuracy of a gnome'?" Kana knew perfectly well that her parents had been so invested in her going to Hogwarts not because 'it was a good education', or because she was 'carrying on the proud heritage of her grandmother' or some high-minded ideal like that. They wanted her to have a fresh start - and possibly to stop wearing frilly clothes that cost too much.
At least back home, she had managed to keep those frilly damn clothes clean!
A fork zinged past Matilda's ear as Kana rose, grabbing hold of whatever she could. Never once in her life had she cared about making a scene and she certainly wasn't withholding anything now. A steaming hot potato flew in Matilda's general direction and Kana took the time to stick her parasol somewhere safe.
