Finally stopping at her House table, Mariel's eyes scanned the length, looking for a suitable seat and landed on a shiny captain's badge. Slowly looking up into the girl's face, Mariel vaguely recognized the older Ravenclaw as one who had played Beater last term. What was her name? Mariel racked her brain, failing to recall it. She'd find it out soon enough. Giving the girl a polite smile and respectable nod, Mariel walked further down the table in search of an empty seat.

Spotting a seat, Mariel also spotted a familiar face, pleased that she had been sorted into her House. Dropping herself gracefully into the seat next to Lasca, she gave her friend a grin before saying, "Well done. Didn't I tell you Ravenclaw?" Not only was she glad her friend was in the same House, but also felt a satisfaction in being right.

She turned as a friendly face deposited herself next to Lasca. Laughing she replied, "Yes you were indeed right. And I am being glad that you were." She gave an inward sigh of relief. It seemed that something was finally going right.

She looked over at her new friend and gave an apologetic smile. "Please be forgiving me. Mariel this is Sage, he is a new first year Claw as well. Sage this is my very good friend Mariel. She is a second year." She returned her attention to her best friend.

Giving her a slightly worried look she asked, "Where did they take our things? I put Tundra in one of the pockets of my bags and Apollo was sitting in his cage all alone. They are alright, yes?" She was worried. She hadn't wanted to leave her precious pets unsupervised but she had been ushered into the hall without preamble. She would have felt bad asking such prompt questions of anyone else but this young Ravenclaw was her best friend and was used to her questions.
