Chapter twelve
Trust

The two girls sat in surprise unable to speak when Scorpius spoke first, “I guess you want to know how I know” They both nodded “Well I guessed, I mean we do kind of look similar, and I heard my dad talk to my mum about some stuff like ‘there at Hogwarts now’”

He glanced at the boys who had tried to look surprised that he had come over.
“I take it your mum’s called Elizabeth, since he said it before though I don’t think he knows I heard” they nodded again, “Well I was going to wait for you to see me or dad to tell me but I couldn’t, though I have a surprise for you” Indie couldn’t speak so Mel replied for the both of them “What?”
He smiled “I heard those guys talking about your birthday, and then my dad wrote to me saying he wanted to talk to me about something and I guess it was about you guys, but he gave me a date”
“You have to be joking” Said Indie who had already figured it out “Not January 1st, don’t tell me he’s coming here on our birthday” She looked at him her face had changed from shock to despair and Scorpius looked at her confused from the expression on her face. “Indigo, Imelda, I know you don’t know me, but I’m asking you to trust me. I think my father has been trying to see you but your mother has stopped him”
“How do you know?” Indie hissed “how can we trust you, or anyone anymore?” she got up as if to leave but Scorpius stopped her just by looking at her, “You are going to have too” He said, he remained focused on her eyes as she fought the hold of his power, but he was stronger he had had more practice “We three share a gift inherited from the Malfoy blood line, do you want to know more?” She nodded and he released her.

“Wow Indie! He has better control over it then you do” Mel smiled
“Don’t start Mel” Indie sighed sitting down again
“Your names are Indigo and Imelda, but who are you two, their body guards?” he smiled at them and Kaleb spoke up, “There Indie and Mel, not Indigo and Imelda”
And James hoping that the girls would not be suspicious said “And we’re James and Kaleb, there friends not body guards”
“I recognise you now” he looked at James and hiding a smile, pretended disgust,
“You’re Harry Potter’s son”
“I am and so is my brother, but I thought you were here to talk to them not us” He sneered back at him, and Scorpius turned his attention back to the girls, acting as if he had been offended.
“I know that your mum hasn’t been truthful about our father, you can believe what I say about him, I have lived with him for the last eleven years” He grinned as the twins smiled back weakly, “Do you want to meet him on your birthday?”

Mel nodded, and then Indie hesitated and nodded grasping her sister’s hand and squeezing it. Mel looked at her “I guess I had some time to think and I would like to meet him, we just have to watch out for the professor” Indie said in reply.

“My dad has the headmistresses permission to come here I doubt she can stop you meeting him then”
“It’s not her we’re worried about” Said Mel
“Its professor Anchorage, he’s dating our mother” said Indie. Scorpius looked up in surprise,
“Really, well then we’ll just have to keep him busy” He smiled. Just then Madam Finch came round clearing out the library to close it for the night.
They walked up the corridor together until they had to take separate routes,
“Bye Scorpius” The twins said
“See you tomorrow and we can get started on this plan” He grinned and made his way to the dungeons while Indie, Mel and the boys made there way to the common room.

They met in the library again the next day at lunch time and sitting at the table discussed there plan. There father was to met Scorpius in a classroom prearranged by the headmistress so that’s where the twins would go. The meeting was on a Saturday day so there where no lessons to worry about the only thing was, Jasper Anchorage would be keeping an eye on them. There was no doubt that professor Tibet had informed the staff of Draco Malfoy coming to visit his son and no reason why Professor Anchorage would not pass this information on to his beloved Elizabeth informing her of daughter’s whereabouts’.

They came up with the idea of putting on such a show to confirm to him that they wanted nothing to do with there dad after they found he was a death eater, that he could assure Elizabeth of it. They placed themselves at the front of the line for the history of magic class and as he approached began to talk in whispers which he, no doubt, would hear.
“I mean a death eater Mel; surely you don’t want to know him after that?” Indie looked at her feigning abhorrence, “Of course not, you know I trust mum. If she’s seen that tattoo” Mel said and Indie nodded as they made there way to there normal seats at the back, Mel ignoring the request of Kathryn to sit with the girls.

The professor trying to hide his interest in there conversation, but failing, spent the lesson walking around the room as they took notes from there books hovering to listen to what they said and falling for it completely.

The lesson finished, there task completed and the four of them headed to the oak tree at the lake to meet Scorpius for lunch, out of sight of Jasper. “Hey there little brother” Grinned Mel, walking over to were he was sitting “Not little, just brother please” He smiled back. “It’s odd to have sisters, or any other siblings it’s always just been me it must be fun for you two” he laughed as they sat down next to him while the boys seemed to be arguing down the path behind them, they stopped as Kaleb looked as if he was fit to burst.

“Look, I just don’t trust him, he’s a Malfoy for goodness sake” Kaleb hissed and James glared back
“Give him a chance, it’s not up to us we just have to be there for the twins, he maybe a Malfoy but you explain how he knew about them, you said your self Malfoy senior wouldn’t have told him”
“I don’t know, but then why didn’t he tell us the same as he told the girls” Kaleb stared at him as James went to walk on and join the girls at the tree “He probably didn’t trust us, you weren’t exactly friendly”
“Where as you were acting like best buddies” He sneered and James ignored him and carried on walking, but stopped again to confront him “It’s better then hating some one for no reason, I mean your parents didn’t even go to this school, mine were and still are avoiding Malfoy’s, but I want to make an effort, I can’t just not like people for the sake of others, he’s not a bad person he’s just in Slytherin”
“And a Malfoy” Kalbe muttered
“So are Indie and Mel in case that slipped your mind”
“And it must have slipped yours that you planned to disown your brother if he became a Slytherin at the beginning of the year” Kaleb turned and fumed walking back to the castle ignoring the shouts of Indie and Mel asking where he was going.

“He has a problem with Scorpius” James whispered to Indie and Mel, as he sat down at the roots of the large oak.
“Im going to go and talk to him” Mel got up “he might listen to me”
“Don’t use magic or anything else on him you might make it worse” Said Indie.
“Were meeting him in two days, are you ready?” Scorpius said, sitting up and scooping up small rocks in his hands.
“Yes, but is he ready for us?” She smiled watching her sister walking up to the castle
“You said he knows we existed so what’s stopping him all these years, it’s not like we moved every year so he couldn’t find us”
“I don’t know on both counts, but by what you say about your mum, she has something to do with it” Scorpius stood up and began skimming the rocks across the dark black surface the sun shining on the banks.

The clock chimed in the entrance way sometime later and the four made there way up to the next classes. The classroom for the meeting had been decided as the unused room on the fourth floor, and the time set for noon. The girls began a count down, whilst James tried to talk to Kaleb over the next two days but failing he still wasn’t talking to them on New Years Eve and when he did it was only to tell them they couldn’t trust Scorpius.
