Astrid just stood up and turned her back for a second. She was furious with Mr. Cale Newell and did NOT want Anna to see it all over her face. She could feel the nails of her right hand cutting into her palm and realized that her hands were balled into fists. She took a few deep breathes and tried to erase the image of what she had just seen from her mind. Tears! She really did loathe him right now.

When Astrid finally felt composed, she turned back towards Anna and threw her arms around her. "Whenever you're ready to talk. We will be right here." she said very seriously. She couldn't say anymore without losing control again, so instead she let Anna go and scooped up her things. She looked at Allie and said, "I'm going upstairs, I'll see you in a bit." she couldn't help but glare at Cale on her way up. Get a grip Astrid, she kept telling herself. She didn't want to make this any worse by doing something stupid.
