Mariska arched a brow as Asteira asked her to join in on their little competition. " I guess it can't hurt." She shrugged and then she smiled widely. " You'll have to get some of your Slytherin friends to help you, seeing as it's the three of us." She said in a slightly teasing manner. " All in good fun though, right?" She smiled.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you look back at the staff table, you'd notice that this Mr. Ingles isn't there, but I do see Madam Kohan, who was the other librarian. The librarian at Belle's, that is." She paused, then continued. "As far as I can tell, though, she's pretty cool too. So I think we're okay."

Then she grinned at Asteira. "I'm not that cruel. And I'm certainly not showing any bias against any of the houses. Every Slytherin I've met so far has been perfectly nice. Although I have to say it would have been slightly entertaining if you had ended up transfiguring the shopkeeper at Ollivander's into something." She took another drink of her pumpkin juice to keep herself from giggling.

Mari was pleased that everyone seemed keen on their studying group, as she knew she was going to need some help. The basic concepts of the magic would be the same, but it was a whole new school system and she wasn't sure how well she'd do at first. Of course she planned on being one of the best, but she'd think on that later. She looked up to the table as Elizabeth pointed out the librarian, Madam Kohan. The woman looked nice enough, she thought.
