This feast sucked though.
And his heart certainly wasn't feeling content right now. Far from it actually.
He didn't mean to like, spy on her or anything, but Clifford couldn't help but watch as Evangeline went and sat herself down with a bunch of guys. One of those guys being the one she'd introduced him as her ... friend to. Great.
She'd left her seat beside him to go sit with them?
She was sitting with them and talking ... and smiling ... and - and blushing?
His attempted smile back at Nico - the bowl breaking dude from last term - felt more like a grimance and Clifford quickly looked down at his chocolate cake. Ugh. He'd lost his appetite again.
Even though she had been the one to leave, Evangeline regretted it dearly and her attention kept on being caught by Clifford. Even though she was trying to pay attention to whatever it was going on around her, she could only care about what was going on with Clifford.
And he sure didn't look happy.
She thought that maybe now she was gone he'd be happier, but apparently he wasn't and she knew it had to end. "Excuse me, I'll be back in a second." She said to Nicholai, excusing her herself and standing up to make her way to Clifford. Aaah. She should've stayed there - this wasn't going to be good. No, sir.
Well, now it was too late to go back and Evangeline took a deep breath when she reached him. "Hey. Would you mind going with me?" She asked quietly, not sure if he would come. Still, she made her way to a more shaded area of the hall.
She didn't want to talk to him and know that the entire student population could be watching. |
