Cale sighed. He had been thinking the same thing--by now Cooper would have seen how stupid this whole setup was and let them back into Hogwarts. But obviously that wasn't the case. "Well, we've done all we can do, so we just have to wait. Like I said, don't think about it," he said, grinning at her to try and make her feel better. "We've got summer to look forward to, and I guarantee you we'll be together all the time. I bet as soon as Theresa finds out your mum runs the ice cream shop, she'll love you," he joked, playfully nudging her.
He pulled her out of the corner they had been chatting in and back into the thick of the party, tripping over his own two feet in the process. Normally he would have been embarrassed, but she was used to that by now, he was sure. "Sorry," he muttered with a sheepish chuckle. "Hey, why don't we try and find Ryan and congratulate him on his win?" he suggested. "Not that I'm surprised they won or anything...you know, guys just do everything better than girls, and that includes captaining Quidditch," he added with a wink, wondering what she would say to his playful banter.
Anna followed Cale out of the corner and back into the general area of the party. "Sorry? About what?" she asked, right before realizing that he'd tripped on his own two feet. "Oh, it didn't even really occur to me at first that you'd tripped. It's okay, though. Don't forget, that's part of one of my favorite things about you," she said with a wink.
"Sounds good," Anna said, nodding and agreeing that they should go find Ryan. "It's just a matter of finding him. I think this is the biggest party we've been to all school year -- by FAR!" Anna continued to look around the room for Ryan until it fully hit her what her boyfriend had just said. "CALE MARKUS NEWELL!" she exclaimed, taking her hand and punching him on the arm. "Must I remind you who the top Gryffindor points earner is this term?" She frowned at him and then went back to looking for Ryan.
