So much for hoping. It seemed as if Cooper was going to stick around for quite some time.
"Yeah, let's go," Anna mumbled, grabbing onto his hand to help pull herself up. She felt...defeated. She didn't want Cale to walk her as far as he could. Well, she did want him to walk her, she just didn't want them to reach a point where they'd have to go their separate ways. She wanted him to walk with her and stay walking with her, just like the boys and girls used to be able to do. She sighed, thinking about what it would be like to share a Common Room with her favorite person in the entire world. Now, she may never know.
"I'll miss you," she said, trying to leave him on a positive note. "The train ride home isn't that far away. Save me a seat, k?"
Cale walked out the door with her, propping it open a bit so that anyone else who wanted to leave could go. "Don't worry, it's going to be fine," he assured her, grasping her hand as they walked along in the dark night. "We've got three months of freedom ahead--I know that's what's going to keep me going these next few finals," he assured her with a grin.
He stopped at the crossroads, with Cooper's to his left and Belle's to his right. He turned to face Anna and gave her a quick peck on the cheek goodbye. "I've save you a whole compartment," he chuckled before turning and heading back towards Coopers.
