The
Harry Potter prequel, featuring Sirius Black and James Potter,
written on a storycard for charity, has
become the fastest selling short story of all time, with 10,000 copies of the storycard book (featuring other authors' contributions as well) being sold in a day.
The original
raised £25,000 for charity (
Dyslexia Action and
English PEN) and the story itself was later
revealed online by Waterstone's for all to read. All proceeds from the sell-out book also go to the above charities.
Quote:
"Fans have been desperate to own this limited edition piece of Harry Potter history," said Toby Bourne, Waterstone's head of children's buying. "Pre-orders flooded in from all over the world. Demand was so big that we stopped taking pre-orders to ensure customers had a chance to buy the book in stores."
