The BBC is reporting that J.K. Rowling has donated a signed Harry Potter book set to a young boy with Xeroderma Pigmentosum (a recessive genetic disorder which means exposure to sunlight increases the risk of developing cancer or blindness) in order for him to raise money to help others with the condition.

David Middleton's mother wrote to Jo asking for her help to raise funds for the XP Support Group. The set will be auctioned in November.
