Harry Potter fans bought their copies of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at ASDA thanks to their offering the paperback book at £1 a copy. However, by pushing their prices so low, the supermarket made a loss of £3.50 per book which Philip Stone, the charts editor at The Bookseller claims lost them £100,000 every week.
However, despite their losses, eight out of ten
Harry Potter fans purchased their copies of the book from ASDA. In addition to that, the second lowest price offered for the book was by ASDA online, at £6.59 (which includes the delivery charges) which is still much cheaper than the price set by Amazon.
There is as of yet no release date for the seventh paperback in the States.
