As James casually introduced himself, Alton nodded at him in greeting. He didn't see why the boy had made a point to say his name; they may never have spoken before, but Alton knew who he was. It wasn't like he was a new kid or anything. He adjusted the strap of his backpack, hoisting it a little higher on his shoulder. The shoulder was beginning to become a little sore now from the weight of all the books.
The slightly older boy asked if Alton had seen the Quidditch match and he nodded. Of course he had seen it, why would he not have?
"Yeah, I saw it," he answered. "Pretty great, huh?" He was a Quidditch boy, even though his appearance didn't exactly warrant it. Most people figured he was an antisocial SOB who didn't like sports, when in reality, he was quite the opposite. It was just because people thought he was emo... Whatever.
