Chapter 55: The Weddings Of The Century
Two months had passed since the engagement party. In those entire two months both Ginny and Hermione had driven Harry and Draco a little crazy with thoughts and details on how their weddings were going to be. Even though guys couldn’t care less about the details of their own wedding and just wanted to get married to the girl of their dreams, it was still important to the girls and so Draco and Harry listened to them rant and rave about seating arrangements and dress details and they just agreed to everything the girls wanted. After all the preparations were done, in just 1 day there would be the weddings no one would forget. Ginny and Hermione had decided that it would be wonderful to have their weddings together, so that’s what they were going to do. “Can you believe it Gin?” Hermione asked. “No I can’t. Isn’t it exciting? In just 1 more day we will both be married to the men we love.” She replied. “Sometimes I feel like I’m in a dream. Like I’m living someone else’s life.” Hermione revealed. “Why do you say that?” Ginny asked. “I can’t ever remember a time in my entire life when I was this happy. It’s true what they say , love is found in the most unexpected of places and your true love can be right under your nose and you won’t even know it.” Hermione explained with a couple of tears forming in her eyes. “Oh Hermione, that was beautiful. You should say something like that in your wedding vowels.” Ginny commented. “Not a bad idea Gin.” She replied. “What you said is so true though, love can definitely be found in the most unexpected of places. Look at me and Draco, no one in this world could have foreseen that Draco and I would fall in love and would soon be married. It’s funny how life turns out, but I’m so glad how it turned out. Draco is wonderful.” Ginny said while imaging her wedding in her mind. “Wow. Sometimes I still cannot fandom how lucky we are to have found men who love us for just us and who we love completely.” Hermione said with a “I just can’t help it” smile. Ginny laughed and said “They’re the lucky ones.”

“You’re getting married to my baby sister tomorrow. I know I don’t really need to say it but it will make me feel better if I do. You better treat her right. Respect her and love her, that’s all I ask.” Ron said. “You have my word Ron. I will love her and cherish her always. I know how lucky I am to have her in my life.” Draco said sincerely. “And you, getting married to one of the best girls in the world. Sometimes I still can’t believe your luck finding “the one” and she was right in front of your eyes the whole time. Talk about meant to be.” Ron finished then patted Harry on the back. “If only I would have realized sooner that Hermione was the one, I could have been this happy along time ago. It still feels surreal at times to think about how happy she’s made me. Now I get the chance to be happy with the girl I love forever. Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough.” Harry said as he left Draco and Ron in awe.

It was finally here, the day we’ve all been waiting for. After everything Harry Potter had been through in his life, this was the day when it would all be worth it. Harry Potter would once and for all get to be the one with the happy ending. They had decided to do the wedding ceremonies at Hogwarts because after all the school grounds were beautiful. The precise spot would be the school gardens chosen for their elegance and beauty. With all the decorations set up, plus the garden’s own enchanting sight, the view looked as if it were out of a fairy tale. There were flowers blooming at every corner and the weather was perfect. The guest list was extremely long as you can imagine because Harry rescued the wizarding world from Voldemort. There were many appreciative guests in attendance. Some of the guests included Draco’s mother, the Weasley clan, Hermione’s parents, Hagrid, Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall, and many others. Even Viktor Krum and the Minister of Magic Fudge came for the festivities.

Hermione was staring at herself in the mirror looking at her gorgeous wedding dress. “I can’t believe the days finally here. I’m so nervous and excited at the same time.” She told Ginny. They both had their wedding gowns on and were looking exceptionally beautiful. “I know what you mean. My stomach is doing belly flops. This is going to be the best day of our lives.” Ginny replied. “Just look at us Gin, we are going to knock their socks off.” Hermione admitted. Ginny laughed and agreed. Hermione turned to Ginny, held her hands and said “this is it. You ready?” Ginny smirked and replied “I was born ready.” Then they hugged and Hermione said “I love you. You know I consider you my sister.” Ginny smiled and answered “I love you too. You are my sister.” They hugged once more and then just waited for word from Mrs. Weasley that the ceremony was about to begin.

“We sure have gone full circle. We started out as enemies and now look at us.” Draco told Harry. “I know, it is somewhat of a miracle. I’m glad Ginny made us see the good in you. You turned out to be a great friend and an even better guy.” Harry replied. “Thanks, it means a lot to me.” Draco answered. “Stop it guys, you’re gonna make me cry and we haven’t even gotten to the wedding vowels.” Ron complained. “Alright Ron. I guess you can tell your mom we’re ready to begin.” Harry said. Draco nodded and Ron left to inform his mother.

When things are meant to be, they will be, nothing will get in it’s way. Harry and Hermione went through many ups and downs. They went through mixed feelings, then returned feelings, then finally love. But love is never an easy road. Harry had to deal with knowing he had to kill Voldemort or Voldemort would kill him. That is no simple task and not a great thing to have hanging over your head. Hermione had to do her best to help the man she loved, her best friend get through that. He would often try to pull her away to protect her, but she never let that stop her. When you love someone, you don’t care what happens to you as long as they’re alright. You would die for them. Hermione was very determined and didn’t let anything or anyone stop her. Through thick and thin, Harry and Hermione triumphed. They looked evil straight in the face and came out on top. When two people love each other that much and never let anything tear them apart, you know it’s meant to be. They get each other perfectly. They are two halves of the same whole. They will make one another so happy and will always prevail in the face of adversity and evil. Harry and Hermione are meant to be and now on this day they will start the rest of their lives together. They will finally live happily ever after.

Draco and Ginny are the Romeo and Juliet of our time. They truly were star-crossed lovers. He was rich, she was poor. He was the bad boy and she was daddy’s little girl. To even get together was forbidden and most importantly, unheard of. They were once enemies but one day they saw each other for who they truly were. Draco realized Ginny’s beauty and Ginny realized that Draco wasn’t such a Beast after all. Ginny saw that Draco had built a wall around his heart to protect himself from ever getting hurt. Once they got together things would never be the same. Slowly but surely she teared down that wall around his heart and opened up his soul, and by doing so made him a better man. No one thought it could ever work out, but they knew. They knew that they could get through anything as long as they were together. Finally Draco will have his chance at a happy ending and Ginny has found her Prince Charming.

Draco and Harry stepped onto the scene of a gorgeous garden and family and friends looking up at them with smiling faces. Harry spotted Dumbledore and Dumbledore whispered “about time” and winked. Harry smirked and continued toward the front near the Minister conducting the ceremony. Draco and Harry shook hands with him and turned their attention towards the back where the girls would emerge. Ron shortly followed being the best man for both of them. Wizard weddings were different from Muggle ones, but did have some similarities. Instead of wedding music playing in the background, there were birds singing and a fantastic firework display that keyed the brides entrance. When Hermione and Ginny revealed themselves, they looked like Angels sent from Heaven. Draco and Harry’s jaws dropped from amazement of their beauty and their luck. The girls smiled at them and were escorted by their fathers. Mr. Weasley was sporting a brand new tux for the occasion of his only daughter’s wedding. Ron nudged both grooms on the arm so they could close their mouths. Ginny giggled quietly when she saw what her brother did. Mr. Granger looked proudly at his daughter and gave her a kiss on the cheek and let her go to Harry. He patted Harry on the back and took his seat. Mr. Weasley smiled at Ginny, gave her an affectionate hug and walked her over to Draco. Both grooms were still mesmerized by their bride’s beauty and grace. Harry gazed into Hermione’s eyes and knew they would be happy forever. Ginny couldn’t help but keep smiling at Draco, she was so happy to be marrying him. “We are gathered here today for a most joyous occasion. It is an even bigger treat because today I will join two couples who love each other and who we are all happy to see unite.” The minister named Henry said. “First we shall start with Harry and Hermione’s vowels.” Henry said. Harry began, “Hermione, you were there for me when no one else could be. Even when I pushed you away, you never let that get in the way of us. You are my best-friend, my soul mate and I love you so much. You have made me the happiest man on Earth and I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you as happy as you’ve made me. I will take care of you, love you, and one day have a family with you. I will love you always.” Harry finished with so much love in his eyes. Hermione started to cry a little. “Harry that was beautiful. I love you too, so very much. Harry you don’t have to spend the rest of your life trying to make me as happy as I’ve made you. You already have. I wake up every morning so happy to have you in my life. I’m so grateful that I met you and that we were friends first. We were lucky enough to have a great relationship before where we trusted each other completely and now we have an even better relationship filled with so much love and passion. We know each other so well and we always do our very best to help one another and understand each other. I will love you today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our lives. And I can’t wait to have a family with you. A little boy with your eyes and smile. I can’t wait to spend my life with you.” Hermione finished and continued to cry. Both their words were so touching that there wasn’t a single dry eye in the place. “See what you did to me?” Ron said as he wiped away his tears. Everyone laughed. “That was beautifully said guys. Now for Draco and Ginny’s turn.” Henry replied. “All my life, I was judged for who my father was and how I was raised. I always acted out to justify what was going on at home. I thought no one would ever be able to see past my bad boy image and just see me for me. But you did Ginny. You saved me. You believed that there was good in me and you made me see it too. You helped me believe that good things were possible, even for people like me. For that I will always be grateful to you. You are my first love and only love. I would do anything for you. Just know that you can always count on me if you need me. I’ll always be there for you and I love you with all my heart and soul. You made me realize that I still had a heart and I was happy to give it to you. You have my heart and I know you’ll always keep it safe. I love you.” Draco said then gave Ginny a kiss on the cheek. “I love you too. When I was a little girl my mom told me that everyone has some good in them. You never made it easy to see the good in you but I still tried to believe that my mother was right and everyone did have some good in them. I never told you this but I always wondered about you. Our families had never gotten along and you always seemed to have a mean streak in you. But I thought there was more that met the eye with you. I wondered what happened that made you act so bad. It took some time but you trusted me enough to let me in and tell me what made you act so bad. And I knew that my mother was right. You showed me a side of you I never knew you had. You learned to trust and love and I’m happy it was with me. We’ve been through a lot together and got through it, so I know we can get through anything. You have grown so much, you learned to be the person I knew you could be and have turned into someone I can be proud of and who I can love forever. I know we’ll be happy together and now we have the rest of our lives to show each other how much we love one other. And if there’s still any skeptics out there, we will continue to prove them wrong.” Ginny finished with a smirk on her face. “Both couples have shown us how much they love one another and now may we have the rings?” Henry asked Ron. “Here you go mate.” Ron handed the rings over to Harry and Hermione. “Do you Harry James Potter take Hermione Granger to be your wedded wife to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, this day forward and for the rest of your life?” Henry asked. Harry winked at Hermione with his brilliant green eyes. “I do.” He said. He placed the ring on her finger. “And do you Hermione Granger take Harry James Potter to be your wedded husband to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, this day forward and for the rest of your life?” Henry asked. “I do.” Then she placed the ring on his finger. “Good. Whew, I never perform double weddings. But for you guys, I’m happy to. Can we have the other rings please?” Henry asked Ron. “Sure, just doing my job over here.” Ron replied. “Thanks Ron.” Draco said as he took the rings and gave one to Ginny. “Do you Draco Malfoy take Ginny Weasley to be your wedded wife to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, this day forward and for the rest of your life?” Henry asked once more. “I do” He replied and placed the ring on her finger. “And do you Ginny Weasley take Draco Malfoy to be your wedded husband to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, this day forward and for the rest of your life?” He asked for the last time. “You bet I do.” She said excitedly. Draco smirked at her response. She then placed his ring on his finger. “You may now both kiss your brides.” Henry said happily. Harry gave Hermione a loving kiss and Draco planted an unforgettable kiss on Ginny. “Easy fellows, we’re in a church. Oh yeah, we aren’t.” Henry said. Everyone laughed at his comment and continued to applaud the happy couples. “And now it is my pleasure and honor to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Harry Potter and Mr. and Mrs. Draco Malfoy!” Henry announced. The only sounds that were heard was cheering, screaming, a couple of WOO HOO’s from the twins Fred and George, and clapping. Harry held on to his new bride and was so ecstatic to be married to her. Hermione was so emotional and kept crying tears of joy. Draco literally swept Ginny off her feet and spun her around giving her a nice thrill. This was the happiest day of their lives and they would enjoy many more wonderous days to come.

They all lived happily ever after and eventually Ron and Lavender tied the knot. Both couples loved their lives together and eventually had families of their own. Hermione got exactly what she dreamt of, a little boy with Harry’s eyes and smile. He was very clever and smart like his mom but looked like his dad. He had the best of both worlds. Draco and Ginny had a little girl of their own with Draco’s blonde hair and Ginny’s fiery spirit. For once there was a Weasley running around who didn’t have red hair. The children were named Lily Hermione Potter and Alexander Arthur Malfoy. Since Ginny and Hermione were practically sisters, they were always hanging out. Their kids are being raised together and are best friends. Who knows what the future hold for Lily and Alex. Maybe one day Lily will follow her parents example and fall for her best friend. Until then, they all lived happily ever after.
