"That's better than sitting in a bowl of water," he replied with a grin. "Trust me, I'd take singing over that any day."
"I think you told me that once," he said as he took the picture of her and looked at little Anna with her curls. "Awwww, how cuttttteeeeeeee," he said, grinning at her playfully. "Look at wittle Anna with her wittle curls!"
He liked teasing her. A lot.
"Newell?" he asked. It must have been the bump on the head from the wall that made him momentarily miss the connection. "Ohhhhhhh," he said, raising his eyebrows at her in a playful way. Ok, he couldn't help himself. He burst into laughter, laughing so hard that his eyes began to water a little bit. "Ohmigosh, that's so...hilarious! I'm flattered, I really am," he told her, wiping the corners of his eyes. He didn't want her to feel bad. "That was really...sweet," he said, grinning at her. Would it be inappropriate to hug her right now?
Ehh, he'd risk it. He gave her a quick one armed squeeze to show his appreciation for the fact that she had named her horse after him. Could that really mean something more? Nah, it couldn't. There was no way.
"Ok, once Hogwarts is re-opened, I HAVE to see this horse. He's the best one of the bunch, right?" he asked with a wink.
Anna winced a little when Cale hit his head on the wall. "Cale, you've got dirt in your hair now," she said, reaching up and brushing a few specks of it out. "Are you okay?" She flashed him a little grin. She really loved that he was so clumsy. It made him so much more....lovable, if she did say so herself.
"Yeah, I guess the singing is a lot better than what you boys had to go through," she said, shaking her head again at the thought. "I'd definitely stay away from that man! Did anyone check
his fingernails? I bet they weren't a pretty picture. Anyway, the whole lesson was unnecessary."
She giggled and yanked by her pictures as he made jokes about it. "Cale!" she shrieked, punching him on the arm playfully. "See if I ever show you one of my pictures again!" She was only joking, of course. She just liked to tease him about it.
"Don't laugh about my horse!" she exclaimed. "Newell and I got 10 points for volunteering to be the first flyers! Well, Newell didn't, but he sure helped our cause! See if I ever name any horses after YOU again, Mister Prefect!" She leaned in and hugged him back when he gave her the one arm hug. They were doing that a lot lately. Not that she was complaining, though. She was perfectly fine with it, thank you very much.
