"No worries, no worries," Ian said jovially. "Just trying to keep the workplace a comfortable place to work. Tell you what: why don't you just call me whatever you're comfortable with?" He smiled warmly at Shylo. She was probably his top employee, and she deserved it for the amount of hard work she put in.
Ian chuckled at her reaction. "No, no. It's not like that. Sometimes, I just like having the office to myself. It lets me sit and think, you know?" His eyes glazed over for a brief second as he started at the ceiling. "Don't worry about it, Shylo. I don't even really like weddings, anyway, and this was all stuff that I had to do. It was not work for you or any of the others, but thank you for your concern." His smile faltered for a split second as his mind went back to the image of the office in tatters.
"Well, then, shall we get back to work? I don't think we're waiting on responses from anyone, so really, it looks like we just need to make sure that Talon guy, or whatever the heck his name is, meets with Theo...and....we need new equipment!" |
