Kayla walked into the owlery and found a clean spot to sit down and write her letter. Cleo flew down and landed on her shoulder. "Eager little thing aren't you" she whispered as she started writing her letter.

Regardless of the changes they've made to the school, I have managed to make a lot of new friends but my favourite is still Celandine, we have talked a lot. She's really sweet and I think we're going to become really good friends. She's really into candles and she thinks they would make a good birthday present for mum but I would have to find someone good enough to make them.
I'll write again soon to let you know what else has been happening at school. Please remember to look after yourself, as I worry about you. Hope to talk to you soon.

Kayla finished writing the letter and handed it to Cleo, who had been watching her write it. "You know where to go my lovely" she crooned as she walked over to the window and watched as Cleo took flight. Kayla sat on the window ledge and looked out over the grounds and wished she was at Hogwarts again.
