"Hello," Eddy drawled in an American accent, coming up behind a couple of other boys he didn't know. "Eddy. Eddy Basilthorne." Eddy struck his hand out like a practiced politician. "What's that about babies?" Eddy's nose wrinkled. "More like my grandma's house."
Oho! More people! Perhaps this term wouldn't be quite as lonely as Ryan previously thought.
"Good to meet you, Eddy. I'm Ryan Lee...fifth year." Ryan gladly took the boy's hand and shook it.
"You know, I don't know what you're all talking about...I don't think it smells THAT bad in here...but it is quite an unfortunate living space." Quote:

He had already forgotten the names of both boys, but that was inconsequential. It was faces that mattered, after all. Perhaps they would even allow him to sit by them at mealtimes.
His spotted skink, Skid, was a rather poor dinner-date.
"Who's Rapunzel?," Con eyed Ryan curiously. Was this boy some sort of Romeo? He must be, if he was on a first-name basis with the opposite sex.
"Wha?" Ryan's head snapped back toward the awkward boy.
"Oh....she's just someone who annoys me. I didn't actually mean to say anything about her...I prefer not to talk about her." And now Ryan was in a rather awkward position.

Was the kid into fairy tales or was it code for something....or someone?" Eddy loved a mystery, no matter how lame it might turn out - his active imagination readily supplied all the color and commentary that reality lacked.
"Yes, but she's also a girl who goes to Hogwa-...Belle's School. And like I said, she's annoying and I don't want to talk about her." He willed them not to talk about her. With all this, he really wasn't in the mood.

He thought of the speeches made by the Heads of Staff in the Great Hall earlier. "The Headmaster seems well enough...as if he knows we shouldn't be here. But..that Lord Borr. Borr? Bore? Can we just call him Lord Walrus? He was big enough to be one... Anyway, he seems like a huge threat. He's all for us being here and in total support of Minister Cooper trapping us here." He gestured out the window at the fence running all around the grounds.
Before he could stop himself, Ryan let slip
"Lord Boar's more like it." He looked nervously at the picture of Minister Cooper and covered his mouth.
"But I suggest we not talk about him. You never know who could be wathing." Quote:

"I'm going to go down to the green houses....who wants to come with me?! Lots of dirt, lots of dung to play with...common..." he grinned and bounce a little. "You guys know you want to! Hey! Hey!" He looked back and forth between the two boys.
He turned hearing someone talking rather rudely. "Hey!" he said rather loudly. "Be polite....he's a professor and whether or not you don't like him - he's a professor and he still deserves respect."
Plants....plants. Umm, no thanks.
"Plants, you say? I think I'll pass....Mr. Prefect." Meh...Ryan didn't know the boy's name. Mr. Prefect would have to suffice.
"I suppose..." Ryan added absent-mindedly.

"Evening boys," he murmured, going to sit in what would've been his usual chair.
Remembering the chair in question was new and not worth sitting on, he chose to stand instead.
"There you are!" Ryan shouted accusingly.
"It's about time I've found you. What in the world are we going to do this term? It's so....not Hogwarts here." Ryan grumbled and crossed his arms while still sitting on the floor.
"Hmph." Quote:

He looked at the group of boys and overheard their little chat. Oh! And there was that Ryan dude!
"Hey! Hey Quidditch Cap!" He called out, falling to the floor and crawling towards the boy on the floor. "Now, now, don't be scared. I'm not here to get your autograph again," he smirked, poking him on the arm gently. He still hadn't forgotten that little episode at the old Ravenclaw Table last year. "Ryan, was it? Yeah..." He trailed off in a daze as he averted his eyes to their Prefect, Sho, and Eddy. They were talking about plants? Huh?
Ah yes. He had spaced out. Again. "Planting?" he echoed from Cale, an arch in his eyebrow which clearly questioned if he was being serious or not. Planting. Huh...
Oh no. It was
him again. Ryan may have been rid of Rapunzel, but he needed Missy Issy to defend him from the likes of Samson Carswell.
"Uhh, Samson, was it? I don't know what you're talking about, but do you see me wearing a badge? No. So how does that make me capain?" This kid was going to ruin his plans! He wouldn't be able to surprise everyone at tryouts at this rate!
Ryan backed away a bit as Samson made a beeline for him on the grounds, and stared in disgust as the boy poked his arm over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and......
"You can stop now," Ryan said.
