Rian walked into the owlery and called down Fairy. She gave her a treat and took the letter out of her pocket.

It was all so confusing. There's new rules, and the dormitories are so different. THERE ARE FLOWERS IN THE RAVENCLAW DORMITORY! I know if you saw it mum, you'd be sick.
Now, you might be wondering why I didn't want dad to read this. It's because I want to tell you that I have a boyfriend. I met him during the summer at Lilah's house. His name is Jame's and he's a great kid, adn he's in his first year.
I'm writing dad a letter too. Fairy should have that one with her.
I'm only suppose to be writing family, it's against school rules to right to the boy's school, or any of you're muggle friends, I think.

Rian tied that letter to Fairy's leg, then dug into her pocket for a much smaller peice of parchment.

"Mum and dad." she told the owl. The owl stared at Rian, then took off through the window. Rian stood watching it for a little while.
