Jaxton saw the a girl look at him. His lemon eyes observed everything about her. Flexibility, stregth, muscle, and...bat. A beater. He took out his bat and put it across his chest, a salute for all beaters to other players. Even for professionals. They also used it for salute during and anthem.
But he wasn't going to sing. That would be stupid...and well...honestly, it would be like him 4 years ago when he was in Ravenclaw, but got transferred to Hufflepuff in the middle of the year. But that wasn't possible! It had never happened before! Ever! So why did it have to happen to him? But that was the thing...it didn't. He had asked the hat before he got sorted to be put in Hufflepuff...and after a long silence...it somehow told him that he would split it half-and-half. And so thats what the hat did even though Jaxton had never believed it.
Jaxton glanced at another boy. He could tell he was a fabulous player, but easily found his weakness. His attitude. It looked as if the kid thought he was better than anyone else. So Jax spoke for the first time, besides to his dad. "Kid. To be a good player is to have a good sport. Cool it" he said calmly. |
