Cris couldn't help but chuckle. He was glad he'd made a good impression on Ian. Better make it last. "Ha. Well... I didn't spend my 7 years roaming the world for nothing," he said with a modest shrug.

When Ashby commented on him being an all-star, he gave another shrug. "Aww. Stop it, Ian. You're gonna make me blush," he said jokingly. He then nodded at the instruction to owl the person, and took out a piece of parchment from a nearby drawer. He scrawled a brief note on it quickly. No need for formalities. He knew the man well enough to send him a friendly letter. "Send it to Charles." And that was all he needed to tell the owl before it flew out of the window.

"So... how is everything supposed to work around here, exactly?" he asked casually.

"Work-related or otherwise."

He gave a smirk. A respectful smirk, though.
