Saylie was trying to work out the interconnectedness of all of the numbers, and was beginning to see patterns woven through them, but she wanted to make sure that the patterns she was seeing were really there, that she wasn't just making them up. Professor Shackleton contemplated the girl's question and then replied, "That certainly could, and most likely, play a significant role in your Karmic debt. While we often learn and consider each number isolated from the others, the reality is that they are all relative to one another. You're thinking like a true Arithmancer! Excellent job Saylie."
After what she thought was a sufficient amount of time, Professor Shackleton returned to the front of the room and announced, "Alright, folks. I think that is enough for today. We covered a lot in today's lesson and I'm very proud that majority of you were able to keep up and understand. For those who still have lingering questions or concerns, feel free to visit my office and we can discuss them. Also, I recommend rereading the textbook and recalculating your own numbers just to be sure you've done them correctly.
"The homework for today's lesson will be posted soon. You will have one week from the date and time that I post it to turn it in to me. Have a good afternoon."
