As Finnegan sat on his cousin's couch, he watched his wife busy herself with making sure their baby was as comfortable as can be. A large smile graced his face as she sat beside him and curled up. He moved slightly, leaning forward so he could gaze at the sleeping child. Ashton Chase was his. He had a son. He was a father, finally. It all seemed so surreal to him, like it hadn't happened.

It felt like everything had happened yesterday. That he had finally broken down Elissa, his dear wife. It felt like all was well and everything would be well forever. Little did he know what Emmylyne was facing just outside.

And something even better was that his sister would be coming in that day to be with them for about a week. She was supposed to be bringing her fiancee, but he had been held up on a job in Romania. Finn was actually looking forward to meeting him, but he was glad to have time with his older sister alone.

He slid over on the couch and placed his arm around his wife, taking in the smell of her hair as he buried his face in it. This was all he ever wanted: to be with Elissa forever and to raise children together.

"Yes?"

After meeting with the head of his department in the Ministry, Axel moved quickly out of the office, an utterly dissatisfied look on his face. Of course, his boss had again ticked him off, but he would address that later. For now, he wanted to go home and be with his wife, cousin, and friend. They had sent the children back to school and now it was 'adult time', along with Lainie and Ashton. And not much later, Chloe would be joining them as well. She always made anywhere they went fun.

Silently making his way through the gigantic crowds, he came to the main room of the Ministry. He said his goodbyes to everyone he had come in contact with that day then aparated back to his residence. He appeared in the woods, taking care that no muggles would catch him, and walked, head down, to the mail box. After sifting through the mail, the young man began to walk up the drive. He then heard voices and looked up.

Benjamin Lawley was standing before him, embracing his wife and looking like he had just come from a lion pit. No, no, this can't be happening. He's not real! It's a sick joke, a sick joke! He dropped the mail and clutched his chest. Was this really happening? Was his best friend really standing before him? Was he really in the flesh?

He could hardly speak, hardly move. His legs felt like concrete. He stood as still as a statue, minus the heaving of his chest. Benji was supposed to be dead. He died three years ago after going on a job and never coming back. That's what happened. No if's, and's, or but's about it. This was clearly not happening. He was only aggravated with his job so his mind was playing tricks on him...right?

Finally regaining some of his composure, Axel walked shakily towards the two. "B-Ben?" he croaked. Yes, it was him. He was there. Placing a sweating hand on the young man he had grown so close to, only to have him ripped away from him just as easily, he grabbed onto his shoulders and embraced him. Not only did he embrace him, he kissed his forehead. "Where the hell have you been?!" he demanded. It was not meant to come off mean, but he was so angry with the way he looked. Someone had done something to him, something that he himself had gone through as well.

The one thing that wasn't going through his mind that probably should have been was what they were going to do about their situation. Axel was now married to Emmylyne; Benji's wife. This could definitely cause some complications. He was worried, worried that he would be parted from Emmy yet again. His stomach dropped as this thought crossed his mind and it made him want to vomit. He didn't show it though. He didn't want anyone to think he was going crazy. What he had to focus on was the situation at hand. Benjamin.
