Chapter 53:The Beginning Of Good Times
Everyone in the Weasley house had heard the great news of Draco and Ginny’s engagement. Ron never could have imagined in a million years the day where soon his brother-in-law would be Draco Malfoy. No matter who Draco was in the past, he wasn’t the same person anymore. Ginny had changed him into a better man. No one knew yet of Harry and Hermione’s engagement because they still hadn’t returned to the house. They were still together at the beautiful picnic and Hermione couldn’t take her eyes off her ring. Every now and again she didn’t focus on her engagement ring, but on Harry’s lips. (*Wink, Wink*) They were truly in love. Some say that the best mates are your friends because no one knows you better than them and they will never hurt you because they were your friends first and never want to see you in pain. Harry and Hermione finally decided to leave and share the good news with everyone. When they got to the house everyone was spread out. Draco was hanging out with the boys in the living room and Ginny was upstairs in her bedroom. “Why don’t you tell Ginny first?” Harry asked her. “Sure, she’ll be so excited for us.” Hermione replied. She went upstairs and Harry remained downstairs with the guys. “Draco, can I have a word?” Harry asked. “Yeah, let’s go in the kitchen.” Draco answered. “Well? Don’t keep me in suspense.” Draco demanded. “She said yes.” Harry said excited. “Oh I knew she would. Congratulations! Where is she now?” He asked. “She went to tell Ginny.” Harry replied. Draco got a scared look on his face. “What?” Harry questioned. “You hear that? That’s the sound of piece and quiet. In a little while all we’ll hear is screaming and giggling.” Draco explained. “Oh no. That will be a huge headache for sure.” Harry said. “Well that’s what we get. But it will be alright. As long as they’re happy, then I’m happy. Let them scream all they want.” Draco replied. Knock, knock. “Gin, it’s me. Can I come in?” Hermione asked from behind the door. “Hermione of course.” Ginny answered. “It’s good to see you.” Hermione said. “It’s good to see you too. Good trip?” Ginny asked curiously. “Not bad. Ginny, I have some wonderful news to tell you.” Hermione said trying to contain her excitement. “Oh I do too. You first.” Ginny replied. “Don’t be silly, we’ll both go on three. One… two… three!!” “I’M ENGAGED!!” They both shouted. Both with shocked but thrilled faces, jumped on each other and embraced in a heartfelt hug. Then they both showed each other their engagement rings and as Draco predicted screamed in joy and excitement. “What’d I say?” Draco said with a smirk on his face. “Wanna get some ear plugs?” Harry asked. “Definitely.” Draco responded.
