Dan Radcliffe and Stephen Fry have
donated items to a Holocaust memorial artwork. Dan donated a pair of his glasses, and Fry has donated a pair of spectacles also to the Respectacles project.
The display is part of Liverpool’s month of events leading up to Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27th which will be spearheaded by Jason Isaacs who will lead a commemorative ceremony at the Philharmonic Hall. More than a thousand pairs of glasses have been collected, with the public being invited to add to the collection before the unveiling on January 21st.

Sending the glasses, Mr Radcliffe, whose mother is Jewish, said: “Please find enclosed my first pair of glasses which I wore at school, around age six. I also enclosed my glasses case. I wish you every success with the exhibition.”

Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Paul Clark, who has also donated, said: “It is a wonderful gesture by Daniel. His glasses will form part of a symbolic piece of artwork which will help people to learn how important it is to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust."
