Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Snape had hesitated while he listened to Marcella, pleading for this worthless slime's life. It was too late to react when Darrin took hold of Marcella, keeping her as hostage. No matter how much he wished revenge on Darrin or how much she wanted him to do it, he would not kill her. He held up a hand and whispered. "Stop," as he saw the blood begin to trickle down from Marcella's pale neck onto Darrin's hand.
He did not want Darrin to win and he did not want the Dark Lord to have her back, but he could not think clearly enough to devise a way to get her away without killing her. Darrin smirked at him, obviously relishing Snape's predicament. Finally, Snape had formulated a plan which might work... Using his own curses against him, Snape pointed his wand at Darrin and Marcella. "Stramendium," he muttered, hoping the force of the spell would dislodge Marcella from Darrin's grasp without too much damage.
