Astral climbed the silver ladder after the teacher. This was going to make things a little awkward - but she had waited too long to back down now.
Astral accepted the tea from Professor Baylock and waited for her to finish her whispered conversation with the other teacher.

"It's getting late, dearlings, and your classes begin tomorrow.
Astral saw her chance.
"Well actually Professor, it's the classes I've come to see you about," she said in what she hoped was a bold but polite tone.
And as the other teacher disapeared down the trapdoor Astral launched into her tale of woe; how she came from a long line of seers, how she had trouble staying in the present, drifting so often into the future and the past, prophecies, even silly ones popping out of her mouth at the most embarrasing moments.
"So you see, I thought if I could start Divination THIS year instead of in third year I could learn to control these ... problems. I already have a pretty good understanding of Tarot (she produced her own deck form the carry all she always toted around) and I can read these tea leaves. I just need ... guidance from someone ... who would understand me. Divination seems to be so misunderstood. So ... would that be alright?" Astral waited politely for the teacher's answer and sipped her tea.
She looked up and stared with horror - she'd done it again!
Last tiem she had looked there was a teacher leaving the room, Professor Baylock and another student. Now there were two other people she hadn't seen entering. Astral must have been stuck in the past again. And now she'd snapped back to the present.
Professor Baylock was talking to the two new people in the room and didn't notice Astral's little shriek, so Astral stayed quiet and waited to be spoken to. What must the profesor think of her? Standing there staring into the past?
