James had been in the hospital now for three days, and Lily had spent all of her free time, to stay by his side as he recovered.

“Lily, you’re drifting to sleep,” James said sweetly, “Why don’t you go back to your dormitory and take a nap. You come here enough as it is, overkill.” Lily smiled back at him as she laid her head on his thighs. James sat up a little more and stroked her hair. They had been happily going steady for 2 years now, and nothing was going to change that. Not even crazy, jealous Snape.
