Amelia looked over to see that Ariana and Kerry had both been more successful at the spell then she was. She cuffed up her sleeves and was now more determined than ever to be successful, because she couldn't let a Gryffindor or Ravenclaw beat her at something. She focused on the enunciation of the spell: "Or-kid-ius... Orchideous."
Once she felt totally focused on the spell and wand movements, she gripped her wand, and flicked and jabbed her wrist: "Orchideous!" A beautiful bouquet of yellow poppies emerged from the tip of her wand. Amelia jumped and squealed with excitement; I did it! I really did it! And only on the second try. She grinned and sat down with the flowers to make sure they didn't wilt right away.
