Hogwarts RPG Name: Sylvannas Quickspeed Sixth | Chapter 8 Hermione began rustling through that morning's paper a half hour before Harry had to get to work.
"What are you looking for 'Mione?" He asked, looking over her shoulder.
"Well, if I'm going to get Draco back, I'm going to need a job that he approves of. My days of working at the bar are over." She said firmly, and flipped to the Hlep Wanted Ads.
"OK, well, I'm going to get an early start at work, will I see you this evening?"
"More than likely." Hermione assured him, and gave him a hug. "Thanks Harry."
"See you later." Harry left as Hermione turned back to the paper, and got out a pen. She started circling ads.
***** Draco made a few phonecalls, wrote some notes, and sent for Peter.
"OK, you can listen." Draco sighed, and turned off the intercom. Peter listened attentively as Draco revealed the whole story between himself and Hermione. Peter nodded.
"Well good buddy, I must say she was slightly out of line. However, don't you think you should have taken the time to hear her out?"
"Ridiculous. Pete, she knows how I feel about-"
"I know. But if you really love her like you say you do, you should have listened to her. Maybe there was only one job opening, and that was it. Maybe she just wanted to help you with the bills. She does seem to be rather independant."
"I suppose you're right." Draco said with a sigh. He got up and paced around the office. "What should I do?"
"Well, I think you should try to find her first. You say she ran off?" Draco nodded. "Well, look around for any friends of hers that are living in London. Maybe she's staying with one of them."
"Potter and Weasley." Draco muttered under his breath.
"What?" Peter gave him a funny look.
"Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley. Those were her two closest friends."
"Then start there. I see you have another visitor. I'll just go. And good luck, keep me posted, ok?" Peter got up off the desk, and let the rather tall woman come in. Draco steeled himself for another round with an ignorant muggle.
***** Hermione dragged herself into the apartment, tired, cold, and hungry. She had a few good leads, but for some reason, she was overqualified for most of the jobs around. Hermione went into the kitchen and turned on the light. Time for dinner.
She whipped up a batch of mashed potatoes and looked around for a kind of meat to make. She looked in Harry's refrigerator. There were some meat patties, but that was pretty much it. How did he survive? Hermione smiled as she made the hamburgers. Harry really needed a woman in his life.
Speaking of Harry, he came through the door as soon as Hermione was finished setting the table.
"Hey Hermione, how was the job search?" He asked as he put his wand up on the book shelf.
"It went....well, rather poorly. But I'm trying again tomorrow. Dinner?" Harry sat down and put potatoes on his plate.
"Wow Hermione...I can't believe how much I missed home-cooked food!" Harry said with some suprise as he stuffed himself.
"You've been living on take-out?" Hermione asked. She got up and got two wine glasses.
"Yea, it's pretty bad, but I usually don't have time to cook dinner." Hermione took out a bottle of red wine and filled the glasses, she set them down in front of Harry and herself. "Nice touch."
"I thought so." They clinked the glasses together and finished their dinner.
