Mr. Thorn walked into the Great Hall and made his way up to the staff table. He was deep in thought about next year and of how he would not be able to return to Hogwarts and carry on with his Groundskeeping duties because his mother was very sick and dying, and his father was in quite a bad state over it. Needless to say he would have to stay with them both for quite a while.
Once at the table he took up his usual seat and gazed fixedly before him.
