I don't get that's there's a death from this quote.
The whole thing about Severus the Roman and the village of Snape all points to being about restoration. It screams to be about the restoration of Snape's reputation and position in wizarding society when it is ultimately revealed that he was a good guy working for the Order and that his actions with Dumbledore were part of a secret pact made between the two.
JKR is very clever and her choice of Snape's name obviously stemmed from these historic and geographic facts and was part of her plan all along - to see Snape crumble but to eventually be restored towards his former glory.
