AJ jerked back quickly, not being used to getting slapped and began to protest but changed her mind once the teacher spoke. "let them go? but why they could be such good pets if you just kept them," she said, looking into a container and smiling. she looked onto the board and saw it, "i'll right it down here, "she said, taking a muggle pen out of her bag and writing it on her hand, "could i perhaps keep one of them?" she asked, gesturing towards teh caterpillars. "or at least help you?" she darn near slapped herself at this point, nearly begging to be helpful to a teacher who had just slapped her hand. she didn't even understand herself at this point.
