Wingardium Leviosa
He recognized that hair. Why was she in Flourish and Blotts? Then it occurred to him that she’d be scouting out the textbooks for the class that she taught at Hogwarts.
Draco hadn’t talked to Hermione since the final battle ten years ago, although he’d spotted her from afar. She’d always rejected his attempts to talk to him, however. Maybe the pain of that experience had scarred her more than it appeared on the outside. A Beginner’s Guide to Transfiguration lay on the top of her book stack. An idea dawned on Draco. Taking his elaborate wand out from his robe pocket, he commanded in his head, “Wingardium Leviosa!”
The book rose slowly up to where he stood on the balcony; he grabbed it.
Hermione, astounded that the book seemed to have a life of its own, stared up at where the textbook had floated. Draco’s eyes gazed down upon her.
This was it. Would she reject him again? Maybe it was time to forget the events of the past and move on. Yes, that’s what she would do. This way, she could free both their souls.
“Hello, Draco,” she greeted, neck craned upwards. She even smiled.
He smirked. “Finally.”
