“Seamus! Owl for you!” Parvati yelled from across the Great Hall.
“Thanks” said Seamus plainly, taking the letter.

He opened it and started reading.

Dear son,
I’m afraid I have some bad news. Your father and I will go visit your ill aunt Anne during Christmas. I’m sorry but you’ll have to stay at Hogwarts. Enjoy the holydays!

“ ‘Enjoy the holidays?’ ” he said outraged. “They decide to take off and leave me here?! That’s not fair!”

“Don’t worry mate,” said Ron sympathetically, “My parents have gone to Romania, again, to visit my brother Charlie, so Harry and I will be here too.”
