“Headmaster”

“Hello, headmaster!” someone hailed from the other end of the staff table.

“Hello, there! How was your summer, Sondra?” he called back, waving.

“Terrific, thank-you!” The woman sat back in her seat.

Ron turned to his students and stood. The hall quieted.

He smiled and then spoke. “I hope you all had restful summer breaks and are ready for the school year.” Grumbles. “Too true! A few words: jam, pocketbook, sneedle and toad! Eat up – the duck looks delicious!”

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Ron rolled over and turned off his alarm. He wiped eyes and looked around. “What an odd dream…”
