Meghan found her way back to the Book Club. She waited until everyone was done before saying," Hello everyone, my name is Meghan Champ and I am a second year." She paused before continuing.

"I recently read a great book called, 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. It is about a girl named Scout and her brother Jem. They are both very young. It is about them growing up in Alabama in the 1950's when racism is still very much alive. It is also about their father named Atticus. He is a white lawyer who deals with alot of harrassment because he is trying to defend a black, he is trying to do what is right.

This is a wonderful book that deals with many issues. The main one being racism. One of the main things I like about this book is it is based on actual historical events (the Scottsboro Trials). Another thing I liked was it made me really think."

Meghan leaned back and looked to the person sitting next to her waiting for them to speak up.
