Alex entered the Library quietly and wandered over to the Study Tables. She took a seat in the far right corner and couldn't help but notice that Dru was there as well, along with two other girls she did not recognize. Not paying any attention to them, the girl placed her bag on the table, trying to make as less noise as possible. After a few minutes of looking through it, she finally pulled out a quill and a few pieces of blank parchment along with the Arithmancy homework and the textbook.

The only reaction that came from Alex after reading the homework through was blinking repeatedly. This sounded far easier in class, when taught, rather than written down on a piece of parchment. She leaned back in her chair for a few moments and glaced at Dru before returning her attention on the textbook. Sighing, the Slytherin girl opened her book at page 93 and started reading everything over again while stealing quick glances every now and then at the homework parchment.

What seemed like hours was really just about 30 minutes. And even though her head was already pounding and she felt like going to sleep right there and then, Alex didn't. Instead, she picked up her quill and started making notes on a scrap piece of parchment. But everytime she tried to figure it out, the ending result wasn't getting her anywhere. The quill was moving faster and faster on the piece of parchement by the second when it stopped abruptly and ink was spilled eveywhere--the quill had snapped in two.

Was it out of anger? Tiredness? Frustration? That, she did not know and was too tired to figure out. Groaning silently, Alex cleaned up the mess with a wave of her wand and grabbed a new quill out of the bag.

Okay. Concentrate. Just concentrate, it's not that hard.

Nevermind that for now. Looking up at the homework paper once again, Alex jotted down the answer quickly. Mind, it was more the theoretical part that she was having trouble with, not the practical part. And perhaps analayzing those numbers--she could use some practice.

If not careful, sometimes it could be confused for the spell which reveals the components of a potion or a poison, SpeRevelio. Mind, this spell only works for simple curses and it is of no use in more advanced magic. Also, it cannot be used to identify charms or transfigurations cast directly.

That wasn't that hard. Mind you, it had taken her some time to rack her brain for the information. Perhaps one more and then she'd be able to either go rest or go ask for help.

Knowing it would be of no use to actually get started on the other ones now, the girl stuffed everything back in her bag and left wordlessly for Professor Fox's office.
