Jakob took in everything that Orion said, with a contemplative look to him. Orion... the parties... the troubles... his girlfriend... they all seemed so far, so distant, and yet so threateningly close memories. He tried to remember the guy's face, his behaviour, what they did together. Getting over to the couch, he whispered in the direction of Orion, not caring if he would be heard by him or not:
"How did your girlfriend die?" he hoped the hinch he was having would not be classified as true.
