I'm a Dane and therefore this topic might be a bit 'sore' for me but I disagree with Hu Zhenzhen; they are not!
They're classics, they never go out of fashion...favor maybe, but even that I'd disagree...how many publishers, print Andersen's Fairy Tales...how many people know them...just because they're not at the top of the sales chart doesn't mean people hate them...the Wizard of Oz on the other hand...most people don't know there was a book written, much less the fifty or more odd sequels... Don't diss Winnie the Pooh! Heffalump ruled!
It's too late for you Marcella...Winnie the Pooh was not supposed to be a tool for the capitalist evil...remember the money from that goes into: Quote:
But you're right about Peter Pan. J.M.Barrie would be turning in his grave. At least the 2003 version did the real story justice.
Peter Pan, and unauthorized sequels...like Peter and the Starcatchers which is money that doesn't go to Children's Hospitals...just how much money does Disney need anyways???? And I still want to write the sequel to Peter Pan...but I'd give the money to the hospital...

Or are they soo different [in context] that there would be no competition at all?
Too different...like Star Wars and Lotr, and HP, fantasy but not much the same... Quote:
Sleeping beauty and a taalking ***** in boots is all out of fashion right now people ! move in to the computer age.
Anderson didn't write either of those, they're French Fairy tales, and Harry doesn't use a computer
. As for not in vogue...Shrek anyone? Quote:
