Gavin noticed his state of undress when Anna walked over to try and find her wand. While she was searching, he grabbed up his boxers and pulled them back on and then, made sure to button his robe all the way up, this time. He was glad Anna didn't blame him, though he did feel guilty. He was also dreading those awful letters home. Nothing Karkaroff would do to punish them would be worse than that.
He was surprised that she kissed him and breathed a quick, "Good night," knowing that Karkaroff would be back any second. Gavin opened the door and led Anna out, their hands slipping out from one another as they headed in opposite to directions toward the girls' and boys' rooms. He had no idea where to go so, he headed back to his own room to find that Nik had left. Exhausted, he slipped beneath his covers and stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep with the thoughts which raced through his mind.
