Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ “It does,” Cat answered simply, starting to move toward her potions ingredients in preparation for the next step of the potion.[b] “Where are you-”[b] but she couldn’t finish her sentence, because Asena had apparently been suprised by Cat’s intended potion.
…suprised, or personally offended.
Cat turned to the other girl with wide-eyes, too startled by the admonishment to respond appropriately. She was just along for the ride at this point, the analytical part of her brain taking in all the information while the other part simply looked.
Moisture barrier. Hydration serum. Balance oil production. Neutralize blemishes.
Cat could only nod and pick up the small bottle, noticing the unique stamp, before they were joined by another figure.
She really should expect it in his own laboratory. But something about her favorite professor and Head of House walking into the room while she was being lectured about skincare made Cat feel like she wanted to jump into the cauldron currently simmering next to her rather than put it away.
She rubbed her forehead, wondering briefly how she continued to end up in situations like this.
And before she became aware enough to stop, she heard herself muttering, “Nothing in the textbook mentioned anything about dissolving epidermises.” Epidermi? Epidermes? Anyway. She glanced at the cauldron again, then at the array of ingredients neatly arranged next to it. Her brain whirled through the process she’d managed thus far, then began making its way through her memory of other brews that she could possibly pivot to without too much hassle and/or disaster.
Luckily, she wasn't that far along. Asena's distraction had kept her from adding in any ingredients at all. She could put everything back. Start over. Sure, why not. “I suppose I’ll transform it to something more useful,” she decided with the barest of a look toward Professor Cox to catch any nonverbal reaction to her decision.
