Default Angel (Slytherin - S) :: Xelene (Gryffindor - B)
That's Rough Buddy | Be the Flower | Moon & Stars

Angel wasn’t a fan of warm-ups, but he still pushed himself to keep on task. He enjoyed playing the actual sport—having structure and following whatever gameplan was set for the game. His former coach had once pulled him aside and explained that the warm-up was just as important as the game. If his body wasn’t ready, then he wouldn’t get the results he wanted.

From then on the Slytherin made sure to appreciate warm-ups more and put in effort.

After practicing ascending and descending, he moved on to weaving through other students. A seeker must be fast, but also smart and know when to get in and out of a crowd of players, and he was good at that. In soccer, his teammates would call him Flash for how swift he was on the field. Sure, that was played on the ground, but it was his mind calculating the routes he was to take. Having fast legs was nothing if the player wasn’t game smart. Same with Quidditch, a fast broomstick was nothing if you didn’t know how to read the game.

Muscles feeling less on the stiff side and more loose, Xelene kicked it into gear. She nearly flattened herself on the broom on a dive, gaining speed as she dived. She imagined her long hair blowing back like the endtail of a comet. Apart from the imagery in her mind, she loved the feeling of cutting through the air, the exhilarating feeling in her tummy. Before plastering herself on the ground, she raised her body—using her core muscles—and pulled up on the broom handle. It listened to her and she was on the way back up.

Xelene giggled to herself at how awesome that felt and how amazing it must have looked. Her mum once said that out of all of her children, Xelene was the most fearless. Sure, she needed more direction on tactics, but she was never afraid of changing her ways for the sake of the game. She’d do whatever it takes to win.

On her way up, she heard her name and beamed in response. “Hiiiiii, CJ!” She sing-songed.

Reminding herself to keep focused, Xelene reached a point above the field and hovered. Letting go with the right hand, she rolled her shoulder—activating her lateral and rear deltoids. It was important for a beater to have those muscles warmed up and ready to. When she was done with that side, she switched to the left.
