Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Moy Pomidor | Seneca's Beard | That Is So Fetch! Jordan noticed Collin the moment he came through the door, which was something he didn't plan to admit aloud.
He watched the slightly chaotic entrance with growing amusement, catching the apologetic glance toward the bar and the hand immediately disappearing into Collin's hair. By the time Collin reached the table, Jordan was already smiling, whatever nerves he'd been entertaining moments earlier suddenly much easier to ignore.
"Hey," he returned, sitting forward slightly as Collin dropped into the opposite seat. He opened his mouth to dismiss the apology immediately—did two minutes even qualify as late? Jordan was hardly in a position to judge when he'd arrived embarrassingly early—but the explanation stopped him.
Then Jordan laughed.
"You couldn't decide on a shirt?" His gaze dropped deliberately, taking his time as he looked Collin over, taking in the chosen article of clothing, before eventually returning to his face. "Wow. And here I was imagining some torrid struggle through the alley just to get here."
He lifted his drink, hiding the lingering edge of his smile behind it for a moment. There was something unexpectedly flattering about knowing Collin had apparently put that much thought into what he wore to meet him.
"For what it's worth, you chose well," he added after taking a sip and setting his glass down, his gaze dipping less subtly and lingering a second longer than necessary. "Very well, actually."
A beat passed before his eyes found Collin's again, amusement glinting there.
"Now I'm curious about the other options. You'll have to model the rejected ones for me sometime, for proper comparison and everything."
