Sixth year. Now that had a nice ring to it.

Freya slipped into a seat at the Slytherin table with the confidence of someone who had survived the excruciating wait for her OWL scores to arrive and therefore deserved to feel at least a little superior about it. She'd earned that much, thank you very much.

Especially after seeing her Herbology result. Her gaze flicked down the table, searching automatically for Nyle. She needed to find him at some point tonight and tell him the good news about her Herbology OWL. Considering how much time he'd spent tutoring her last year, he deserved to know that she hadn't completely embarrassed herself. More importantly, Freya deserved the opportunity to boast and thank him profusely for everything.

Priorities.

Speaking of priorities, her attention shifted toward the staff table, where one particular change immediately caught her eye: there was a new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.

Freya narrowed her eyes thoughtfully at the unfamiliar face. Interesting. She sincerely hoped this one wouldn't mind the amount of time she'd be spending in his wing of the third floor, because sixth year meant NEWT classes, and NEWTs meant harder spells, and harder spells meant she was one step closer to getting herself properly back into the duelling arena.

Speaking of which, she had missed that part of the castle very much and had an itch that she needed to quench. Freya wanted nothing more than a wand in her hand and an opponent across from her. She wanted the rush of anticipating the next spell, the satisfaction of landing one first, and, preferably, someone underestimating her badly enough to make victory particularly entertaining.

For tonight, though, she supposed she could behave herself and look like she actually wanted to mingle at the feast. There would be plenty of time to investigate the new professor later. And find Nyle. And remind everyone in the duelling arena exactly what they'd been missing.
