Syd & Collin! Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Moy Pomidor | Seneca's Beard | That Is So Fetch! The Leaky Cauldron had won.
Jordan had spent more time than he cared to admit considering alternatives after Collin left the decision in his hands. There were objectively better restaurants scattered throughout London, places where the food was more interesting and the atmosphere less worn around the edges. If this was meant to be his opportunity to prove that he possessed some concept of quality, he probably should have chosen one of those.
Instead, he'd chosen here.
Maybe it was predictable after admitting he'd once, years ago, practically lived at the place. But there was something fitting about bringing Collin somewhere that had once been Jordan's makeshift home and occasional getaway from everything else.
He'd arrived early, claiming a small table tucked away from the busiest part of the pub. Not excessively early, he told himself, though the drink already sitting in front of him and the frequency with which his eyes wandered toward the entrance suggested otherwise.
His fingers closed around his drink at last, taking a sip as he forced his attention elsewhere. There were people coming and going, conversations overlapping beneath the familiar clatter of dishes and scrape of chairs. Plenty to occupy himself with. And yet, inevitably, his gaze wandered back toward the entrance.
It was only lunch.
With a handsome stranger he'd deliberately approached in a café and apparently wanted to see enough to arrive embarrassingly early for. That realization pulled a faint smile across his face.
Right. Only lunch.
